As co-founder of HealthEra, Lewis
brings fifteen years of experience in applying information
technologies to healthcare and general business applications.
Lewis has held executive and management positions with firms
that include Windham Health, Panurgy Inc., InfoImage, Dataphaz,
Perkin Elmer, and Sundstrand. Lewis attended the University
of Minnesota and is certified by APICS in Resource Management.
Kevin Patrick, MD, MS
Vice President for Medical Services, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Kevin Patrick is Professor of Family
and Preventive Medicine at the University of California,
San Diego and Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of
Preventive Medicine since 1996. Board certified in Preventive
Medicine, Dr. Patrick is a member of the Armed Forces Epidemiological
Board, a Senior Advisor to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's
Active Living Research project, and a member of the Community-level
Health Promotion Study Section of the NIH Center for Scientific
Review. He is a past President of the Association of Teachers
of Preventive Medicine and has served on the Secretary's
Council for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention of the
US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Dr. Patrick
has authored over 110 scientific articles, book chapters,
commentaries and abstracts.
Karin van Brunt
Senior Editor
Karin Van Brunt has extensive experience
in all phases of web publishing and has served as a writing/editing
consultant for such firms as Leapfrog.com, Dashboard Inc.,
and GlobalStreams, Inc. Previously, Ms. Van Brunt was Senior
Editor/Content Manager for HealthCentral.com, Research Coordinator
for the Kaiser Foundation Research Institute, and a technical
writer for Kaiser Permanente, IT group. She received her
BA in Linguistics from the University of California, Berkeley,
and Editing/Copy Editing certifications from UC, San Francisco.
Asha Swaroop, MD
Researcher
Dr. Asha Swaroop attended college and
medical school at Brown University. She is Board-Certified
in Family Medicine and currently practices Geriatrics at
a Long-Term Care facility in California. She previously
worked in a private group practice and at the Stanford Center
for Research in Disease Prevention. She has a strong interest
in integrative medicine / complementary therapies, and teaches
classes on meditation and stress reduction
Sheri Thompson, PHD
Researcher
Dr. Sheri Thompson received her MA and
PhD in Clinical Psychology from the California School of
Professional Psychology. Her experience in Public Health/Health
Promotion includes work performed for Sharp HealthCare Senior
Health Initiative, San Diego State Univ. Institute for Public
Health, Humetrix, Inc., Project PACE and Comnunity Health
Interventions. Inc
Myra Ross, RN
Researcher
Myra Ross has been a hospital, nursing
home and hospice nurse for 35 years. She has extensive clinical
experience in both staff and supervisory capacities within
the hospital, community health care and instructional settings,
as well as clinical instructor to medical assistants for
Anatomy/Physiology, Pharmacology and a large array of technical
procedures.

Alice Hale has been a writer and editor
of consumer health information in print and on line for
more than 10 years, for organizations such as Krames Communications,
the American Academy of Ophthalmology and HealthCentral.com.
Peter Koontz
Senior Architect
Peter Koontz is a senior software engineer
with experience designing and building scalable web systems.
over a wide range of problem domains, including electronic
commerce, business logic implementation, knowledge management,
reporting, workflow, and data integration. Peter has worked
for web-based business solution firms Panurgy Northern California
and Infoimage, as well as being an independent consultant.
Kirk Nelson
Graphic Designer
Kirk Nelson has experience in interface
design, illustration and multimedia design in cross browser/
cross platform web development programs. For the past 8
years, Kirk has paricipated in the development of corporate
identity programs and web sites for health care, manufacturing
and consulting services, and online communities. Kirk's
personal interests and work experience include commercial
photography and cartography.
Yin Ju Chen
Graphic Designer
Yin Ju Chen attended Taipei National
University of the Arts and San Francisco Art Institute and
has held positions with the Headland Center for the Arts
and the San Francisco Art Institute. Yin Ju is a freelance
artist with experience in web design, and personal interest
in contempory and performance art, and experimental film
and video.
